Black cats are especially in peril around Halloween. There are so many folktales and superstitions concerning black cats. We here in the west look upon them as bad luck. The irony is that in other countries and cultures black cats are thought to bring good luck. Actually they are quite beautiful animals with shiny black fur. Keep your black cat indoors as an extra precaution again the not too bright among us.
